Asst. Manager - Billing

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee the complete billing lifecycle for inpatient services, from patient admission to discharge and final bill generation.
• Review and validate medical documentation, consultant notes, and service entries for billing accuracy.
• Coordinate with coding, pharmacy, diagnostics, nursing, and admission teams to ensure completeness of billed services.
• Monitor insurance pre-authorizations, approvals, and TPA documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, insurer guidelines, and government regulations.
• Address patient queries and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to IP billing.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during billing and financial audits.
• Generate daily and monthly billing reports and support revenue tracking.
• Identify and minimize billing errors or revenue leakage through regular checks.
• Assist in training and supervising junior billing staff as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Healthcare Management, or related field.
• 5 to 12 years of experience in inpatient billing within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing systems, TPA/insurance workflows, and medical terminology.
