ASST PURCHASING OFFICER

About the role

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required by the organization. They ensure that procurement activities align with budgetary constraints, quality standards, and delivery timelines. This role is vital for maintaining smooth operations and minimizing supply chain disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop purchasing plans based on organizational needs
• Source suppliers and evaluate their reliability, pricing, and quality
• Request and review quotations, bids, and proposals
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Negotiate contracts and terms of service
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve disputes
• Prepare budgets and conduct cost analysis
• Track spending and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure purchases align with financial forecasts
• Follow and enforce procurement policies and procedures

Qualifications:

ü  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field

ü  2+ years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles

ü  Familiarity with vendor management, contract negotiation, and inventory systems

ü  Strong negotiation and communication skills

ü  Analytical thinking and attention to detail

ü  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software

ü  Knowledge of procurement laws and ethical sourcing practices

ü  Budgeting and cost analysis capabilities
