Attendant/Customer Service

We are looking for a dependable and personable Attendant/Customer Service team member to support visitors in San Mateo, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys assisting the public, creating a welcoming experience, and helping maintain an orderly environment. The role offers an opportunity to build customer service skills while working in a community-focused setting that values clear communication and responsiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome visitors upon arrival and provide friendly assistance with service-related questions.

• Communicate clearly with guests in English and Spanish to address requests and share helpful information.

• Direct foot traffic and manage lines in a calm, organized manner to promote a safe environment.

• Offer courteous customer support and resolve routine concerns with patience and care.

• Assist the Facilities Manager with additional day-to-day tasks and special assignments as needed.

• Maintain an attentive presence throughout the site and respond promptly to changing visitor needs.

• Represent the organization with a positive, attentive attitude in all interactions.

• Contribute to a community-oriented atmosphere by ensuring each guest feels acknowledged and supported.

• Ability to speak with customers in both English and Spanish.

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Previous or transferable customer service experience is helpful; entry-level candidates are welcome.

• Comfortable standing and walking for most of the workday.

• Detail-oriented demeanor with an achievement-oriented and service-focused approach.

• Interest in community-based work and public-facing responsibilities.

• Ability to follow direction, adapt to changing priorities, and assist with assorted support tasks.
