The Opportunity

A leading global Am Law 20 firm is looking to appoint an Attorney Recruiting Director to oversee attorney recruitment across its New York offices.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the full attorney recruitment lifecycle , spanning Partner and lateral Associate hiring through to oversight of the firm's summer Associate program.

The successful candidate will manage an established recruiting team and work closely with firm leadership, Partners and key stakeholders across multiple New York offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead attorney recruiting strategy and execution across the firm's New York offices
• Oversee the full lifecycle of Partner and lateral Associate recruitment
• Manage and provide strategic oversight of the summer Associate program
• Partner closely with firm leadership and Partners on hiring requirements and recruitment strategy
• Manage and develop an established attorney recruiting team, currently consisting of a Recruiting Manager, Senior Coordinator and Assistant
• Oversee candidate sourcing, interview processes, offers and onboarding
• Build and maintain relationships with external search firms and other recruitment partners
• Ensure a consistent and high-quality candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
• Support wider initiatives designed to strengthen the firm's ability to attract and retain leading legal talent

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience within attorney/legal recruiting , ideally within a large or international law firm
• Strong understanding of lateral Partner and Associate recruitment
• Experience with law school and summer Associate recruiting programs
• Previous experience managing or developing a recruiting team
• Comfortable partnering directly with Partners and senior firm leadership
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple senior and business-critical searches simultaneously
• A proactive and commercial approach to attorney recruitment
