Microhire is a leading event staging and AV solutions provider across New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia, and we're looking for an experienced Audio Visual Technician to join our Auckland team.

This is a hands-on role balancing technical and leadership responsibilities, where you'll deliver complex, high-profile events, support clients onsite, and work closely with a skilled production team to ensure seamless execution.

You'll combine strong technical capability with a refined, customer-first approach—helping ensure every event runs smoothly and every client experience is a positive one.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the setup, operation, and pack-down of AV for conferences, galas, and corporate events
• Operate audio, vision, lighting, and staging systems to deliver high-quality outcomes
• Act as a key onsite contact, supporting clients and venue partners with professionalism and confidence
• Anticipate client needs and proactively solve problems to support a seamless event experience
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly in live environments
• Support and guide junior technicians while maintaining a collaborative team culture
• Deliver polished events within a premium venue environment

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years' AV experience in corporate events or production
• Strong technical capability across audio, vision, lighting, and staging
• Proven experience delivering live events with a focus on client outcomes
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to stay calm under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
• Professional presentation suited to a 5-star environment
• Full working rights in New Zealand

Highly regarded:

• Rigging ticket
• EWP (Silvercard or HRWL)
• Full driver's licence
