This role combines professional live audio engineering expertise with advanced AVL systems technical support. The ideal candidate is equally proficient in mixing live worship services, troubleshooting Dante networks, maintaining production infrastructure, supporting broadcast audio, and deploying temporary AVL systems for special events.

The Audio Engineer / AVL Systems Technician is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality audio experiences while helping ensure the reliability, integration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EBC’s audio, video, lighting, LED, communications, networking, control, and production infrastructure.

This position works closely with staff, contractors, ministry leaders, musicians, worship teams, and volunteers to create technically excellent environments that support the mission and ministry of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

  • Work closely with worship leaders, musicians, pastors, speakers, producers, and production staff to anticipate and execute the audio needs of each service or event.
  • Troubleshoot audio issues in real time while maintaining professionalism and composure in live production environments.
  • Maintain appropriate gain structure, system tuning, signal flow, RF coordination, and audio routing throughout EBC production environments.
  • Support the integration and quality of audio for livestreams, recordings, online platforms, and other broadcast destinations.
  • Help establish consistent audio standards and workflows across EBC campuses.

AVL Systems & Infrastructure

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve production systems across audio, video, lighting, LED, communications, networking, control, and power infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support to staff, ministry teams, contractors, and volunteers for AVL equipment and systems across campus venues.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Dante and other networked audio environments.
  • Support LED systems, production communications, video routing, fiber infrastructure, control systems, and interconnected AVL technologies.
  • Diagnose complex technical issues and proactively identify potential failures before they impact worship services, broadcasts, or events.
  • Maintain proper signal flow, connectivity, system synchronization, and communication between production systems.
  • Establish and maintain standards for system installation, cabling, termination, labeling, rack organization, patching, and infrastructure.
  • Support system commissioning, upgrades, installations, and technology transitions.

Production & Event Support

  • Support and execute production load-ins, load-outs, and temporary system deployments for conferences, ministry events, outdoor events, and special productions.
  • Assist with audio, video, lighting, LED, communications, networking, staging, and production infrastructure as needed.
  • Support safe production power distribution and deployment of ground-supported and flown production equipment within established safety practices.
  • Work collaboratively with internal production teams, contractors, vendors, and outside production partners.
  • Assist with church-wide productions and special events as directed by production leadership.

  • Coordinate equipment repairs and communicate system issues that require outside service or manufacturer support.
  • Maintain backups of critical console files, configurations, presets, network settings, and production system data.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including signal-flow diagrams, rack elevations, network documentation, LED maps, system configurations, patch sheets, and equipment inventories.
  • Track equipment condition and identify systems approaching repair, replacement, or upgrade needs.
  • Assist production leadership with equipment evaluation, system design, infrastructure planning, capital projects, and long-term technology improvements.
  • Coordinate with IT, manufacturers, vendors, integrators, contractors, and technical partners when necessary.

Team & Volunteer Development

  • Help train staff, contractors, and volunteers on audio and AVL systems, workflows, and production standards.
  • Develop repeatable processes that allow production teams to operate systems safely, efficiently, and consistently.
  • Provide technical leadership during rehearsals, services, and events while creating an environment where volunteers can learn and grow.
  • Promote a production culture built around preparation, communication, teamwork, excellence, and service.

MISSION-CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent Elizabeth Baptist Church with professionalism, humility, integrity, and Christ-like character.
  • Support and advance the mission, vision, values, and ministry goals of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

  • Maintain open and consistent communication with supervisors, staff, ministry leaders, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate servant leadership both on and off the platform.
  • Steward church equipment, technology, finances, and other resources responsibly.
  • Remain calm, solutions-oriented, and professional when addressing technical challenges in live environments.
