AUDIOLOGIST

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments for adults, children, and other patients.
• Perform audiological tests, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and other relevant diagnostic procedures within the professional scope of practice.
• Identify and assess hearing loss, tinnitus, and related auditory disorders.
• Interpret test results and prepare accurate clinical reports.
• Recommend appropriate hearing rehabilitation options and refer patients for further medical evaluation when necessary.
• Select, fit, programme, and verify hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
• Provide counselling and education to patients and their families regarding hearing health and hearing-loss prevention.
• Conduct newborn, school-age, occupational, or community hearing screenings where required.
• Monitor patients' progress and provide follow-up care.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot audiological equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Collaborate with ENT specialists, speech-language therapists, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in hearing conservation programmes, health education, and outreach activities.
• Comply with applicable clinical standards, infection prevention procedures, and professional regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent recognised qualification in Audiology.
• Valid professional registration and licence to practise, as applicable in the country of employment.
• Relevant clinical experience is an advantage; entry-level candidates may be considered.
• Proficiency in audiometric testing and interpretation of results.
