Audiovisual (AV) Technician

About the role

The position is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audio-visual (AV) and control systems. This role ensures all systems are fully operational and meet project specifications. The position also involves technical design support, system upgrades, and providing user training when required.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and system faults, and provide effective AV and system solutions to ensure full operational functionality.
• Conduct testing of various cables and products before, during, and after installation, including rack assembly and equipment setup.
• Oversee onsite testing and commissioning of completed projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance, setup, and operation of audio and video systems.
• Execute system upgrades, manage technical issues, troubleshoot incidents, and identify root causes.
• Research, design, and implement audio processing modules and prepare system diagrams for audio, video, and control systems.
• Participate in engineering design and system construction planning.
• Ensure all technical documentation and paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
• Attend site surveys with the Sales team when required to provide technical input.
• Provide user training and system handover support when necessary.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Audio Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in AV systems installation or technical support (fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may be considered for junior roles).
• Knowledge of audio, video, and control systems integration.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
