Audiovisual Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Audiovisual Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the AV industry, with a strong background in AV system installation, cabling, and control system programming. This role involves working independently, traveling as needed, and contributing to the setup and maintenance of audiovisual systems in various environments, including schools. The successful applicant will be a proactive "go-getter" with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality AV solutions.

Duties

• Install and configure audiovisual systems including monitors, TVs, panels, sound systems, and Promethean boards.
• Perform cabling tasks such as pulling Cat6 cables, terminating, and punch-down connections.
• Build and organize equipment racks for AV setups.
• Program control systems for AV integration; familiarity with Extron and Creston programming is a plus.
• Troubleshoot and repair AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Work independently on projects, managing time effectively across multiple sites.
• Travel to various locations as required to install or service AV systems.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet specifications.
• Maintain safety standards on-site, especially when working in school environments where background checks are conducted.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in the AV industry with hands-on involvement in system installation and setup.
• Knowledge of cabling techniques, including pulling Cat6 cables, terminating, and punch-down connections.
• Experience building racks and installing audio/video equipment such as monitors, TVs, panels, sound systems, and interactive boards.
• Ability to program control systems; familiarity with Extron and Creston is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work independently without direct supervision.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude—being a "go-getter."
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to pass background checks due to work in educational environments.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
