Audit and accounting assistant

About the role

Quickgoods Inc. is seeking an Audit and Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic finance and audit team in Pasig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our internal audit and accounting functions. As an Audit and Accounting Assistant, you will provide essential support to our audit and accounting operations, helping to ensure the integrity of our financial records and the effectiveness of our internal controls. This role is instrumental in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements whilst supporting the broader financial objectives of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the planning and execution of internal audit projects and engagements
• Conducting preliminary audit procedures, including testing of transactions, reconciliations, and documentation reviews
• Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation in accordance with audit standards and company policies
• Performing account reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for investigation and resolution
• Supporting the maintenance of general ledger accounts and assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Gathering and organising financial data and supporting documentation required for audit and accounting activities
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
• Supporting compliance activities and ensuring adherence to accounting principles and internal controls
• Communicating findings and observations to senior audit and accounting staff in a clear and timely manner
• Supporting the coordination of audit schedules and liaising with different departments as required

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or a related field (Associate degree or higher, or equivalent professional qualification)
• Knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices, particularly relevant to internal audit and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in financial data
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and reports
• A methodical approach to work and the ability to follow procedures and best practices
• Professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct
• Preferably, some previous experience in an audit, accounting or finance role, or relevant internship experience
• Familiarity with internal audit methodologies and risk assessment approaches would be advantageous
