Audit Associate/Senior – Construction, Not-for-Profit & Nonpublic Clients

As we grow, we’re looking for an Audit Associate (Staff) or Senior who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to build strong client and team relationships in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

As part of our audit team, you’ll work directly with clients and team members to deliver meaningful, accurate, and timely assurance services. Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements from start to finish, under the supervision of audit seniors and managers
• Perform audit procedures including walkthroughs, substantive testing, and analytical reviews
• Document work performed in CCH Engagement and maintain organized, supportable audit workpapers
• Prepare audit schedules for areas such as cash, payables, fixed assets, revenue, and expenses
• Evaluate and test internal controls and identify areas for improvement
• Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Gain working knowledge of industry-specific accounting issues, such as:

Construction : job costing, WIP schedules, revenue recognition

Not-for-Profit : fund accounting, donor restrictions

Nonpublic Companies : private company GAAP reporting and disclosures

• Communicate audit findings clearly and proactively with audit team members and client contacts
• Travel locally within the Pittsburgh region during busy season to perform fieldwork at client sites

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 1–4 years of audit experience (public accounting or internship preferred)
• CPA eligible; active CPA license is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and basic understanding of audit procedures
• Familiarity with CCH Engagement and Sage Fixed Assets is a plus
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate with others
• Interest in developing a long-term career in public accounting and building client relationships

Salary Ranges

Experience and CPA licensure/eligibility will be factored into the salary range.
