Busy Season External Audit Contractors

Firm: Large Public Accounting Firm

Location: Anywhere in the US (ET, CT, MT, PT) - Remote

Compensation: $65-$75 Seniors and $80+Manager

Engagement: 4+ Months

We are seeking experienced Senior and Manager- level External Audit professionals to support a leading public accounting firm during its upcoming busy season. These are 4+ month consulting engagements offering the opportunity to work with established audit teams across a variety of client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and/or oversee external audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Perform and review audit testing across key financial statement areas.
• Evaluate internal controls, identify audit risks, and document findings.
• Prepare and review audit workpapers in accordance with professional standards.
• Coordinate directly with client accounting and finance teams to obtain documentation and resolve audit issues.
• Manage multiple engagement priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced busy-season environment.
• Manager-level consultants will provide engagement oversight, review staff and senior work, manage client communication, and help drive engagements to completion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of external audit experience for Senior-level opportunities;
• 5+ years preferred for Manager-level opportunities.
• Current or recent experience with a public accounting firm strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and professional auditing standards.
• Experience independently executing audit procedures and preparing high-quality workpapers.
• Prior experience managing or reviewing audit work required for Manager-level opportunities.
• CPA or CPA progress preferred, particularly at the Manager level.
