About the role

CHF CPA & CO. is seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our audit team as an Audit Management Trainee. This is a full-time opportunity based in the Central and Western District, offering a structured pathway into audit management within a progressive accounting firm.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic audit team, working on diverse client engagements and developing the technical expertise required to progress towards management positions within external audit. You will gain hands-on experience in financial statement audits, risk assessment and control evaluation, working under the guidance of experienced audit partners and managers. This position is essential for building the next generation of audit leaders at CHF CPA & CO.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting audit fieldwork including testing of controls, substantive procedures and gathering sufficient appropriate audit evidence
• Performing detailed analytical reviews and account reconciliations to identify variances and potential audit risks
• Documenting audit work and findings in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies
• Assisting in the preparation of audit programmes and working papers for multiple clients across various industries
• Supporting the evaluation of internal control systems and identifying control deficiencies
• Liaising with clients to obtain necessary documentation and clarifications during the audit process
• Contributing to the development of audit strategies and risk assessments under supervision
• Maintaining awareness of relevant accounting standards, auditing standards and regulatory requirements
• Participating in training and professional development initiatives to build audit competencies

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and auditing fundamentals
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present findings clearly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; exposure to audit tools or data analytics software is advantageous
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Time management skills with the capability to manage multiple audit engagements and competing deadlines
• Professional approach with a commitment to ethical standards and compliance with auditing requirements
• Willingness to pursue relevant professional certifications such as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) qualification or equivalent
• Demonstrated interest in building a career in audit and a passion for continuous professional development
