Audit Manager

About the role

GTG CPA LIMITED is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our External Audit team. This is a full-time position based in the Kwun Tong District. As an Audit Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing audit engagements, managing audit teams, and ensuring the highest standards of audit quality and compliance. This position is integral to delivering exceptional audit services to our diverse client portfolio and maintaining the firm's reputation for excellence in the accounting profession.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and conducting external audits of financial statements in accordance with Hong Kong Standards on Auditing (HKSAs) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs)
• Develop audit strategies, allocate resources, and oversee fieldwork to ensure efficient and effective execution.
• Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior auditors and trainees, providing constructive feedback and on‑the‑job training.
• Managing the overall audit engagement, ensuring budgets are met and timelines are adhered to
• Reviewing audit workpapers and financial statements for completeness, accuracy and compliance with professional standards
• Identifying and evaluating audit risks, developing appropriate audit responses and ensuring effective risk mitigation
• Communicating audit findings, recommendations and observations to clients and senior management
• Maintaining relationships with clients and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
• Contributing to the development and improvement of audit methodologies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with professional standards, regulations and the firm's quality control policies
• Participating in continuous professional development and staying current with accounting and auditing standards

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Professional accountancy qualification: HKICPA, CPA Australia, ACCA or equivalent recognised qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant external audit experience, preferably 7+ years, gained in a reputable accounting firm or as an audit professional
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and relevant auditing standards
• Proven experience in managing audit engagements and supervising team members
• Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build effective client relationships
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with the Hong Kong regulatory environment and business landscape
• Preferred: Experience with auditing entities in specific sectors such as listed companies, financial institutions or non-profit organisations
