As one of the UK's fastest-growing Top 20 accountancy firms, we're proud of our people-first culture, our collaborative approach and our commitment to helping both our clients and our colleagues succeed.

We are looking for a personable and technically strong Audit Manager to join our growing audit team in Rochester. If you're looking for a role where your ideas are valued, your development is supported and your contribution genuinely makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional seeking a varied portfolio, genuine career progression, and the opportunity to play a key role in developing both clients and team members.

You will take responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of audit clients from planning through to completion, ensuring audits are delivered efficiently, to the highest quality standards and within agreed deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Audit Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients, overseeing engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Ensure audits are delivered efficiently, on time, and in compliance with auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
  • Lead audit planning and completion meetings, supporting and developing senior team members to take on greater responsibility.
  • Act as the key point of contact for clients, building strong and lasting professional relationships.
  • Identify and communicate technical and commercial issues to the Responsible Individual (RI), providing practical solutions where appropriate.
  • Manage audit resources effectively, highlighting resourcing challenges and requirements to the RI as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the audit team.
  • Review audit files and working papers to a high standard prior to RI review.
  • Review statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and disclosures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, delivering training and promoting continuous improvement across the department.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Currently operating at Audit Manager level within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing standards, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Practical and commercially minded, with sound professional judgement and a strong appreciation of both compliance requirements and client needs.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values, enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about delivering great results.
