Audit Officer

About the role

The Audit Officer plans and executes financial, operational, and compliance audits to evaluate internal controls across the organization. Develops strategies to improve efficiency, increase revenue, and mitigate financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develops and executes the annual audit plan based on risk assessments and business priorities.
• Designs audit scopes, schedules, and annual plans for financial and operational reviews.
• Inspects documents, data, reports, and operating practices across all departments.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of internal control systems and identify weaknesses or fraud risks.
• Prepares clear audit reports and present recommendations for cost savings and risk reduction to management.
• Ensures audit issues and recommendations are accurately communicated and that follow-up actions are planned.
• Conducts fieldwork based on the approved methodology and audit program guides.
• Develops, supports, and implements new internal controls and processes that align with internal goals and external regulation changes.
• Coordinates effectively with department staff, external auditors, and other stakeholders during engagements.
• Ensures adherence to internal audit standards, professional ethics, and organizational policies.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Auditing or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in internal and external audit.
• Clear verbal and written skills to present findings to stakeholders and department heads.
• Strong ability to spot data anomalies, reconcile records, and pay close attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High ethical standards to maintain independence during evaluations.
