Audit Senior Associate/ Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior Associate/Supervisor to join our External Audit division. This is a full-time position based remotely. You will take on a pivotal position within our audit team, providing strategic oversight and technical expertise on external audit engagements. You will be responsible for managing audit projects, supervising junior staff, and ensuring the highest standards of audit quality and compliance are maintained throughout all assignments.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and execute external audit engagements in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and relevant regulatory requirements
• Perform or Review audit working papers and ensure compliance with firm policies and audit standards
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance on audit procedures, methodologies and technical matters
• Conduct substantive audit procedures including testing of financial records, transactions and account balances
• Evaluate internal control systems and identify areas of risk or improvement
• Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate findings to clients and senior management
• Manage client relationships, addressing queries and ensuring satisfaction throughout the audit process
• Contribute to the development of audit programmes and risk assessment strategies
• Stay current with changes in accounting standards, auditing standards and relevant legislation
• Assist in the training and development of audit team members

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in accounting (such as CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent recognised body), preferably already obtained or close to completion
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant external audit experience with a professional audit firm or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and generally accepted accounting principles
• Demonstrated experience in planning and executing full-scope external audits across various industries
• Excellent understanding of internal controls and risk assessment methodologies
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and audit management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex audit matters clearly
• Proven ability to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the capacity to mentor and develop junior staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Experience in the Malaysian audit environment is highly desirable
