Audit Senior

The SME Mall is recruiting on behalf of a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Ilupeju, Lagos. Our client is looking for a hands-on Audit Senior to run fieldwork on assurance engagements and support the growth of a capable audit team.

What you’ll do

• Plan and carry out fieldwork on statutory and special-purpose audits across a varied client base
• Supervise, guide and review the work of audit associates and trainees on site
• Prepare and review working papers, ensuring they meet ISA, IFRS and firm quality standards
• Draft financial statements, management letters and audit reports for manager review
• Identify control weaknesses and accounting issues, and raise them early with the Audit Manager
• Serve as the day-to-day contact for client finance teams during engagements
• Help keep engagements on time and within budget

What you’ll bring

• ICAN and/or ACCA qualification, or currently in the final stages (strong advantage)
• B.Sc./HND in Accounting or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of audit experience in a practising firm
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS, ISAs and Nigerian tax basics
• Experience supervising junior staff on engagements
• Proficiency with audit software and strong Excel skills
• Good communication, organisation and report-writing skills
• Willingness to work at client sites across Lagos as required
