Our client, FOZL Corporate Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, is seeking an Auditor to join their team!
  
This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical professional to build a strong foundation in audit and financial reporting within a growing corporate advisory firm. Based in Johor Bahru, this role offers hands-on exposure to the full audit lifecycle, from client acceptance procedures through fieldwork and reporting, while working closely with the engagement team and gaining valuable experience across diverse local and international clients.

The firm provides comprehensive corporate advisory and support services, including accounting, taxation, audit support, payroll, human resource administration, and company secretarial services to both local and international clients.
  
What you'll be doing?   

• Supporting client acceptance procedures — Assist in client acceptance procedures, including risk assessments and preliminary analytical reviews.
• Conducting audit fieldwork — Conduct audit fieldwork in accordance with approved audit plans and established audit methodologies.
• Performing audit procedures — Carry out audit procedures such as sampling, testing, and preparation of Audit Working Papers (AWPs).
• Identifying and communicating audit issues — Identify audit issues, conduct necessary research, and communicate findings with clients and engagement team members.
• Monitoring engagement progress — Monitor engagement progress, ensure timely completion of assigned tasks, and follow up on review notes.
• Highlighting risks and control weaknesses — Highlight potential risks, control weaknesses, or inefficiencies identified during audit engagements.
• Maintaining audit documentation — Maintain complete and accurate audit documentation in compliance with applicable auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting the audit team — Support the audit team in delivering high-quality services within agreed timelines.
• Taking on ad-hoc tasks — Perform other duties as assigned by the Audit Manager or Partner, contributing wherever needed.

Who are they looking for?   

• Educational background — A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a recognised professional qualification (such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent recognised by MIA) provides a strong foundation for this role.
• Relevant experience — A minimum of one year of audit experience is preferred; candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply, with training provided.
• Technical knowledge — A good understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and audit practices is considered an advantage.
• Analytical and organisational skills — Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail are important for delivering quality audit work.
• Adaptability — The ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced working environment will help the successful candidate thrive in this role.
• Communication skills — Strong interpersonal and communication skills support effective collaboration with clients and the wider engagement team.
• Language proficiency — Effective communication in both English and Chinese is required, as the role involves handling Chinese-speaking clients and counterparts.
