Role overview

Rupeek is hiring an Auditor to safeguard the quality and integrity of its gold loan portfolio across branches.

The role verifies gold purity, audits branch processes and compliance, and identifies fraud risk through

planned and surprise inspections, with extensive travel across multiple branches and geographies.

Location Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Indore, Rajkot

Operations

Key responsibilities

Gold loan purity verification

• Verify the purity and weight of pledged gold against loan records using standard assessment methods.

• Flag discrepancies in purity, weight or valuation and escalate them for corrective action.

Branch risk audits and surprise inspections

• Conduct scheduled branch risk audits covering gold custody, vault controls and loan documentation.

• Carry out surprise inspections to test day-to-day adherence to controls.

• Assess each branch's risk level and track closure of audit observations.

Process and compliance audits

• Audit branch processes for compliance with company policy, SOPs and regulatory requirements.

• Identify process gaps and recommend practical control improvements. Fraud risk identification

• Detect red flags such as spurious gold, impersonation, under- or over-valuation and documentation irregularities.

• Investigate suspected fraud cases and support root-cause analysis. Reporting

• Prepare clear, timely audit reports with findings, risk ratings and recommendations.

• Share insights and trends with Risk, Operations and leadership teams.

Travel

• Travel extensively across multiple branches and geographies as per the audit plan.

Eligibility and skills

Must have

• Graduate in any discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Gold Loan Operations, Risk, Audit, Quality or Branch Operations.

• Sound knowledge of gold purity assessment.

• Willingness to travel extensively.

• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Good to have

• Familiarity with gold loan regulations and NBFC compliance norms.

• Working knowledge of Excel for audit tracking and reporting.

• Good communication skills in English and the local language of the assigned region.
