Authorization Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Authorization Coordinator to join our busy cardiology practice. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced with medical insurance authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and track prior authorizations
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization requirements.
• Submit requests through insurance portals, fax, and telephone.
• Follow up on pending and denied authorizations.
• Maintain accurate authorization numbers, dates, and documentation.
• Review upcoming schedules to ensure authorizations are obtained before appointments and procedures.
• Communicate authorization status with scheduling.
• Obtain additional clinical documentation when required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of medical authorization experience preferred.
• Cardiology or specialty practice experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with insurance portals such as Availity.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is a plus.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
