Auto Body Estimator

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Auto Body Estimator to join our fast-paced collision repair team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and creating comprehensive repair estimates. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle is repaired to the highest standards while providing exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge, estimating skills, and sales acumen to deliver outstanding results and foster long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to determine scope of repairs, including collision damage, mechanical issues, and cosmetic concerns.
• Utilize advanced estimating software to prepare detailed repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials.
• Communicate clearly with customers, insurance companies, and service technicians to explain estimates and repair processes.
• Identify opportunities for upselling additional services such as mechanical repairs, tire services, or preventive maintenance to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
• Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis of automotive issues like transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and oil changes.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates, customer interactions, and repair orders in compliance with company standards.
• Assist in managing auto service operations by coordinating repairs, scheduling appointments, and ensuring timely completion of work.

Skills

• Proven experience in auto estimating software and collision repair processes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
• Ability to identify additional revenue opportunities through upselling services such as oil changes or tire services.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics including transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems.
• Experience working in dealership or auto body shop environments is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in computer-aided vehicle damage estimating and service writing software.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for client transportation if needed.
• Cash handling experience is a plus for processing payments efficiently.
