Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Auto Body Writer to join our fast-paced automotive service team. Duties

• Prepare detailed auto body repair estimates using auto estimating software and technical knowledge of vehicle damage and repairs
• Communicate clearly with customers about repair procedures, costs, and timelines to ensure transparency and satisfaction
• Collaborate with technicians to understand repair scope, including auto body repairs, paint work, frame straightening, and related services
• Manage documentation for insurance claims, repair orders, and parts procurement to facilitate smooth workflow
• Upsell additional services such as alignments, suspension repairs, tire services, or oil changes when appropriate to maximize shop revenue
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions including cash handling and invoicing
• Assist in coordinating repair schedules and ensuring timely completion of vehicle repairs

Requirements

• Proven dealership experience or background in automotive service management is highly preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, transmissions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and diesel engine repair
• Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is essential for accurate documentation
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
• Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension work, tire service, and automobile sales processes
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Prior experience with auto body repair processes or mechanic experience is a plus

Pay: $23.96 - $28.85 per hour
