Auto Body Technician

Position Summary

Auto Body Repair Technicians thoroughly disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle back to pre-accident condition. Understand methods and procedures to properly repair a vehicle per industry standards, and provide an exceptional customer experience through the assessment and repair process.

Duties

• Complete understanding of repair procedures
• Ability to use required tools
• Repair and perform work described on a work order
• Work Safely in a noisy area with odors present
• Lift up to 30 pounds at a time
• Visually Inspect vehicle damage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach in tight or confined spaces
• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including eye protection
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards at all times
• Experience using frame measuring and straightening equipment
• Strong welding and panel repair/replacement skills

Education or equivalent experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of technical school program OR at least a 2-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer

Licenses / Certification

• I-Car Certification (Preferred)
• Valid Driver's License with reasonably clean driving record
• Unitized Body Structure Repair Certification
• Collision Related Mechanical Repair Certification

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
