Auto Body Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Body Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition using advanced auto body repair techniques. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle is meticulously repaired, seamlessly refinished, and returned to our customers with confidence. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automotive structural repair, auto painting, welding, and fabrication, along with excellent mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural repairs using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
• Utilize fabrication skills to create custom parts or modify existing components to meet repair specifications.
• Conduct automotive cosmetic repairs, sanding, and refinishing using airless paint spraying and other automotive body refinishing tools.
• Install automotive parts such as glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision and care.
• Operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and sanding tools efficiently to complete repairs accurately and safely.
• Assess vehicle damage accurately for auto estimating purposes; communicate repair needs clearly with customers and team members.
• Ensure all repairs meet dealership or shop standards for quality, safety, and durability while adhering to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment; follow safety protocols at all times during heavy lifting or when working with hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or collision repair setting.
• Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques including auto restoration, sheet metal work, automotive structural repair, and cosmetic finishing.
• Proficiency in welding repair methods such as MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective diagnostics and repairs.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, automotive welding equipment, and detailing supplies.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically capable of working on vehicles for extended periods.

Pay: $29.59 - $45.00 per hour
