Auto Electrician

Auto Electrician – Yasmac Equipment Rental and service LLC.

We are hiring a skilled Auto Electrician to join our Service Workshop team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, electronic, and safety systems on vehicles, gensets, and diesel/heavy equipment. This role ensures every unit is safe, compliant, and fully functional.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on vehicles, generators, and diesel/heavy equipment.
• Test, repair, and replace starting, charging, battery, and lighting systems.
• Troubleshoot and replace sensors and actuators.
• Read and interpret fault codes using diagnostic scanners; perform basic ECU/ECM checks.
• Diagnose basic CAN-Bus communication faults.
• Repair air-conditioning electrical systems (compressor clutch, fans, relays, controls).
• Install, test, and repair reverse alarms, beacons, and other safety electrical systems.
• Trace, repair, and replace wiring harnesses, connectors, fuses, and relays.
• Read and work from wiring diagrams and manufacturer documentation.
• Support Diesel Mechanics on combined mechanical–electrical faults.
• Complete job cards accurately with fault found, work done, and parts used.
• Follow electrical safety and lock-out procedures at all times.

Technical Knowledge Required

• Sensors & Actuators: Testing, diagnosis, replacement
• ECU/ECM: Basic understanding and fault-code reading
• CAN-Bus Systems: Basic communication fault checks
• A/C Electrical Systems: Diagnosis and repair
• Safety Electrical Systems: Installation, testing, repair
• Diagnostic Scanners: Confident and independent use

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in automotive electrical systems
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools
• Experience with diesel/heavy equipment is an advantage
• Good communication and teamwork skills
