Auto Mechanic-Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in automotive service, particularly with GM vehicles. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while diagnosing and repairing various automotive issues. The Automotive Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that vehicles are safe, reliable, and performing at their best.

Duties

• Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify issues with powertrain, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
• Execute repairs and maintenance on GM vehicles and other makes as needed, utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment.
• Align wheels, brakes, and suspension systems to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to prolong vehicle lifespan.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs needed and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
• Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
• Ability to weld and perform basic fabrication tasks is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing vehicle issues.
• A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in automotive service are preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
