Duties

• Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
• Write detailed repair orders and estimates using estimating software, ensuring clarity and accuracy
• Communicate effectively with technicians about vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and recommended services
• Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and more to enhance customer satisfaction and shop productivity
• Manage client communication throughout the repair process, providing updates and explaining repairs in an understandable manner
• Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
• Maintain thorough records of all service interactions, estimates, and work orders for future reference

Experience

• Proven experience in automotive service writing or a similar role within a dealership or auto repair shop
• Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, diesel engines, air brakes, shocks & struts, and collision repair procedures
• Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
• Hands-on mechanic experience or service technician background is highly advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
• Prior experience in auto body repair or collision repair environments is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to facilitate vehicle inspections and test drives

Pay: $51,344.81 - $61,834.61 per year
