JOB DESCRIPTION – AutoCAD DESIGNER

Position: AutoCAD Designer

Job Summary

The AutoCAD Designer is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and project plans using AutoCAD based on engineering sketches, redlines, field information, and approved telecommunications design requirements. The position provides drafting support to Engineers and ensures that drawings are accurate and compliant with client and project standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

The AutoCAD Designer shall perform the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Prepare plans, profiles, and detailed telecommunications drawings in AutoCAD based on sketches, redlines, engineering designs, and project requirements.
• Modify plans, profiles, and detail drawings based on approved design changes and field verification.
• Conduct site field visits to verify existing conditions and telecommunications project requirements necessary for accurate drafting.
• Ensure that drawings comply with client drafting standards, telecommunications design standards, specifications, and project requirements.
• Provide drafting and technical support to Engineers in the preparation and completion of telecommunications projects.
• Work independently and collaboratively with the project team to complete complex and technically challenging drafting requirements.
• Monitor and report the progress of assigned drafting works to the Senior Engineer as required.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with approved telecommunications designs.
• Maintain and organize project drawings, revisions, and related technical documents.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• With work experience in telecommunications, preferably involving fiber optic, outside plant (OSP), or telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of preparing technical plans, profiles, and detailed drawings.
• Knowledge of telecommunications drafting standards, fiber optic network layouts, and OSP design is an advantage.
• Willing to conduct field visits and coordinate with Engineers and project teams.
• Detail-oriented and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
