Job Summary

GM STONE is looking for an experienced Draftsman to prepare detailed technical and shop drawings for natural stone projects, including marble, travertine, limestone, quartzite, and other stone applications.

The candidate will work closely with the Production, QS, Sales, Project, and Installation teams to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and suitable for fabrication and site installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, cutting drawings, and installation drawings for natural stone works.
• Develop drawings for flooring, wall cladding, stairs, countertops, vanities, fireplaces, columns, feature walls, and joinery stone cladding.
• Review architectural drawings, BOQs, elevations, sections, and project specifications.
• Prepare accurate stone layouts, panel drawings, cutting lists, dimensions, and material schedules.
• Coordinate drawings with site measurements and actual site conditions.
• Ensure all drawings comply with approved designs, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Incorporate approved materials, finishes, thicknesses, joints, edge profiles, and installation details into drawings.
• Coordinate with the Production Manager and factory team to ensure drawings are suitable for fabrication.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, designers, consultants, and subcontractors when required.
• Revise drawings based on client, consultant, or site comments and maintain proper revision control.
• Prepare detailed drawings for CNC, waterjet, cut-to-size, mitered edges, curved works, and custom stone elements.
• Ensure dimensions and quantities are accurate before issuing drawings for production.
• Assist the QS team with quantity verification when required.
• Maintain organized records of approved drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Visit project sites when required for site measurements, inspections, and technical coordination.
• Identify potential fabrication or installation issues before production and propose practical solutions.
• Support the production and installation teams with technical clarification throughout the project.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience as a draftsman, preferably within the natural stone, marble, architectural metal, joinery, or fit-out industry.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Experience with Shop Drawings and detailed fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of natural stone fabrication and installation methods is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, elevations, sections, and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, joints, fixing systems, and installation details.
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D software is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have strong technical drafting skills and practical knowledge of natural stone fabrication and installation. They should be able to convert architectural designs into accurate, production-ready drawings while coordinating effectively with the factory and site teams.

Pay: AED2,352.41 - AED7,544.77 per month

Work Location: In person
