About the Role

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our growing contracting and renovation company in Dubai.

The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge across civil/architectural drafting, MEP coordination, and joinery detailing, with the ability to produce accurate, construction-ready drawings for residential renovation and construction projects.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who understands that drawings need to be practical, coordinated, and suitable for actual site execution. The successful candidate will work closely with our Civil Engineers, MEP Engineers, Technical Architect / Interior Designer, project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key ResponsibilitiesCivil & Architectural Drafting

• Prepare detailed civil and architectural drawings based on design concepts, site measurements, and project requirements.
• Prepare existing-condition, demolition, and proposed layout drawings.
• Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction drawings.
• Prepare drawings for walls, partitions, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs, and other architectural elements.
• Draft details for villa renovations, extensions, alterations, and structural modifications.
• Incorporate site measurements and existing conditions accurately into drawings.
• Assist engineers and architects with technical drawings and construction documentation.
• Update drawings based on site conditions, design changes, and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings.

MEP Drafting & Coordination

• Prepare and update MEP drawings for residential construction and renovation projects.
• Draft and coordinate electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drainage, and other MEP services.
• Prepare lighting, power, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural, interior, and ceiling plans.
• Identify potential clashes between MEP services and architectural/interior elements.
• Coordinate MEP routes, levels, access requirements, and equipment locations.
• Incorporate MEP engineer's instructions and technical requirements into drawings.
• Assist with preparation of coordinated MEP drawings for site execution.
• Update drawings based on actual site installation and changes.

Joinery & Interior Detailing

• Prepare detailed joinery and furniture shop drawings for residential projects.
• Produce drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, TV units, wall paneling, doors, cabinets, and custom furniture.
• Prepare detailed plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Include accurate dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, fixing methods, and construction details.
• Coordinate joinery designs with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and architectural requirements.
• Ensure adequate clearances, service access, ventilation, and maintenance access are incorporated into joinery.
• Review joinery drawings with designers, engineers, site teams, and suppliers before fabrication.
• Prepare drawings suitable for submission to joinery workshops and manufacturers.
• Review shop drawings and fabrication details received from subcontractors.

Site Coordination

• Conduct site visits to take accurate measurements and verify existing conditions.
• Work closely with site engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and technicians.
• Translate site requirements and design changes into updated technical drawings.
• Attend site meetings where required to resolve drawing and coordination issues.
• Provide technical clarification to site teams regarding drawings and details.
• Verify that construction and fabrication are aligned with approved drawings.
• Record site changes and incorporate them into revised or as-built drawings.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.

Drawing & Document Management

• Maintain organized drawing registers and project documentation.
• Ensure all drawings are correctly numbered, titled, dated, and issued with the appropriate revision.
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain accurate records of superseded drawings.
• Prepare drawings for internal review, client approval, subcontractor coordination, and site execution.
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, legible, and sufficiently detailed for construction.
• Coordinate information from architects, engineers, designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Draftsman / Technical Draftsman within construction, renovation, fit-out, or joinery.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Practical knowledge of civil/architectural, MEP, and joinery drawings.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and translate design requirements into construction details.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, dimensions, levels, and site execution.
• Ability to read and coordinate architectural, civil, structural, MEP, and interior drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple drawing packages.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• UAE/Dubai construction experience is preferred.
• Experience working on villas and residential renovation projects is strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience working on high-end residential villas, renovation projects, interior fit-outs, custom joinery, MEP coordination, and multidisciplinary construction projects will be strongly preferred.

Experience working directly with site teams, joinery workshops, MEP subcontractors, and material suppliers will be considered an advantage.
