Autocad Draftsman

Role Description

The AutoCAD Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, detailed plans, and design documentation based on project specifications, sketches, and instructions. This role supports design, engineering, construction, and technical teams by translating concepts and requirements into clear, precise, and professionally presented drawings.

Key responsibilities include creating, modifying, and updating two-dimensional (2D) drawings and three-dimensional (3D) models using AutoCAD and other relevant design software. The AutoCAD Draftsman will prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, layouts, component details, and technical schematics according to established standards and project requirements. The role also involves reviewing drawings for accuracy, checking dimensions and annotations, incorporating design revisions, and ensuring consistency across related documents.

Additional duties include organizing drawing files, maintaining document records, coordinating with engineers, architects, and designers, and ensuring that technical documentation is properly formatted and clearly presented. The candidate will identify drafting discrepancies, implement requested corrections, manage drawing revisions, and help maintain accurate records of design changes. The role requires attention to detail, technical understanding, and the ability to interpret instructions and specifications effectively.

The AutoCAD Draftsman will contribute to efficient project coordination by delivering high-quality drawings within agreed deadlines, following relevant drafting conventions, and supporting continuous improvements in drawing preparation and documentation processes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with technical drafting tools and design software.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, architectural plans, dimensions, scales, symbols, and drafting standards.
• Ability to prepare accurate 2D drawings and interpret technical sketches, specifications, and design instructions.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools and other computer-aided design applications is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical documentation.
