AutoCAD Operator

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled AutoCAD Operator to prepare, revise, and maintain accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and other Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

The successful candidate will support engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects by producing detailed drawings, updating technical documentation, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and drafting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings based on sketches, specifications, and engineering or architectural designs.
• Create detailed plans, layouts, elevations, sections, and as-built drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on project changes and feedback from engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and company drafting procedures.
• Maintain organized CAD files, drawing registers, revision histories, and project documentation.
• Prepare drawing packages for printing, plotting, and digital submission.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, surveyors, and contractors to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret technical specifications, calculations, and field measurements.
• Assist in preparing project layouts, equipment locations, and installation drawings.
• Participate in site visits when required and incorporate field changes into updated drawings.
• Check dimensions, scales, symbols, and annotations before submitting drawings for approval.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate necessary corrections with the project team.
• Maintain CAD templates, title blocks, layer standards, and drawing libraries.
• Ensure proper document version control and timely delivery of assigned drafting tasks.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• At least 1–3 years of experience as an AutoCAD Operator, CAD Draftsperson, or in a similar role.
• Experience preparing engineering, architectural, mechanical, electrical, or civil drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, particularly 2D drafting; knowledge of 3D drafting is also required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, PDF editing, and document management tools.
• Understanding of engineering and architectural drawing standards.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building construction, infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, or SketchUp.
• Basic understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Knowledge of local building codes and applicable engineering standards.
