About the role

Vicente T. Lao Construction is seeking a skilled AUTOCAD Operator to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Calabarzon. As an AUTOCAD Operator, you will play a vital role in translating design concepts and engineering requirements into precise technical drawings that guide our construction projects. This position is essential to our project delivery process, ensuring that all documentation meets industry standards and supports our commitment to quality construction excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Create, modify and maintain detailed technical drawings using AUTOCAD software for various construction and engineering projects
• Convert sketches, blueprints and design specifications into accurate digital drawings and models
• Prepare construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections and details in compliance with engineering standards and building codes
• Review and update drawings to incorporate design changes and client feedback
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness
• Maintain drawing files and documentation systems in an organised manner for easy retrieval and reference
• Assist with the production of tender documents and presentation materials as required
• Ensure all drawings are properly scaled, dimensioned and annotated according to company standards
• Perform quality checks on drawings prior to distribution to stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in AUTOCAD with demonstrated experience in creating construction and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, conventions and best practices in the construction industry
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and precise technical documentation
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to interpret design briefs and convert them into technical drawings
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations and industry standards
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new tools and techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical qualification in drafting or engineering is advantageous
• Experience in the construction or civil engineering sector would be highly valued
