The Role

Principal Mineral is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Technician with a strong eye for detail to join the Engineering Team. In this onsite role in Camden, South Carolina, you will support plant modernization and capital improvement projects by producing accurate 2D/3D drawings, maintaining documentation, and keeping designs aligned with field needs, standards, and specifications.

Core Responsibilities

• Create Models: Build detailed technical drawings and solid models of equipment, machine parts, and systems using 3D modelling tools.
• Draft Technical Plans: Produce clear 2D and 3D drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and sections for construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects.
• Revise and Update: Review and update drawings based on field changes, redline markups, and feedback from project managers and engineers.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify drawings meet project specifications, building layouts adhere to local building codes, and designs align with industry standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate: Partner with engineers, field teams, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve missing or conflicting design information.
• Manage Documentation: Organize and maintain digital drawing files within the company’s document management system.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D modelling tools such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (SolidWorks experience is a plus).
• Education: High school diploma or an associate degree/technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints, understand basic building or mechanical systems, and apply foundational geometry.
• Attention to Detail: Strong precision in dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Communication and Organization: Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to traverse plant and jobsite locations to gather necessary data.

• Attend all other required monthly safety training
