Automated Visual Inspection Engineer

📢 Contract Opportunity: AVI Specialist | On-site in Canada

Our client, a pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Automated Visual Inspection (AVI) Specialist to develop and validate inspection recipes for new products on a Körber (Seidenader) AVI machine.

The system inspects liquid products in clear and amber glass vials of 2 mL, 5 mL and 10 mL. Master recipes are already in place, with five to six new products now being introduced.

📍 THE ENGAGEMENT

The initial 2–3 weeks will focus on developing and validating recipes for the first new product. Following successful completion, the engagement may continue in phases across the remaining products, with potential for a long-term partnership.

The client needs local, on-site expertise in Canada to provide hands-on support and reduce

reliance on remote OEM support from Europe.

🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, set up and optimise inspection recipes for new products.

• Tune camera stations, lighting and detection parameters for particle, cosmetic and fill-level inspection.

• Build and use defect sets and test kits to challenge recipe performance.

• Run and document recipe validation in line with client protocols, including manual vs. automated inspection comparisons, such as Knapp-type studies.

• Balance detection performance and false-reject rates against acceptance criteria.

• Work closely with production, QA and validation teams.

• Troubleshoot machine and recipe issues, and share knowledge with engineers and operators.

✅ ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Proven hands-on experience with Körber / Seidenader AVI equipment.

• A track record of developing inspection recipes from scratch.

• Recipe validation and qualification within a GMP pharmaceutical environment.

• Experience inspecting parenteral products in glass vials.

• Strong understanding of defect libraries, detection-rate studies and false-reject analysis.

• Confidence working independently as the client’s on-site technical expert.

• Right to work in Canada, or the ability to undertake contract work in Canada with the required authorisation.

➕ DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Körber MS series equipment.

• Amber glass inspection.

• An OEM application or field service engineering background in AVI.

• Knowledge of EU GMP Annex 1 and relevant USP requirements.

• Exposure to other AVI platforms, including Syntegon, Stevanato/Brevetti or Antares Vision.
