About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Automatic Door Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial door systems at retail, commercial, and other customer facilities.

This is a hands-on field position for someone with a mechanical background, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently. Experience with automatic doors, motorized doors, or commercial door systems is highly valued.

Inter-island travel is required, depending on business needs.

What You'll Do

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial doors and entrance systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage issues involving motors, sensors, and door controls.
• Service automatic doors, motorized roll-up doors, storefront doors, and fire doors.
• Identify repair needs, recommend solutions, and complete work safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and track parts and materials.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and other technicians to complete service calls.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards at every job site.
• Travel between Hawaiian islands as needed to support customer locations.

Qualifications

Required:

• At least 3 years of experience in commercial door installation, service, or repair.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and motorized equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including low-voltage components.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and communicate professionally.
• Willingness to travel between islands, potentially up to 50% of the time.

Preferred, but not required:

• Experience with automatic sliding doors, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, or fire doors.
• AAADM certification or completion of a commercial door technician training program.
• Experience with access control systems or fire alarm integrations.
• Welding experience.
• Scissor lift, forklift, or other equipment operation certifications.

• Hourly pay: $25.81–$31.08, depending on experience and qualifications.
