Job Overview: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUILDER:

We are hiring an Automatic Transmission Builder!

Our business continues to grow and we are looking to hire a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and talented individual to join our team! Are you committed to fixing it right the first time. We do not short-sheet customers. We ALWAYS replace the Torque Converter, ATF/Filter, L/S Clutch Kit, etc, as well as any hard parts that need replacement. Coming to us with an issue does not automatically mean the customer needs a new tranmission. The transmission builder is responsible for rebuilding transmissions properly within shop safety compliance standards, as well as mentoring Jr. Build Technicians. Requirements of the job include:

• Experience in building Ford, Dodge or GMC transmission is required.
• Diagnose transmission problems
• Teardown, Inspect, Wash, List Parts Needed, Rebuild, Support R&R Team, etc.
• Experience with manual transmissions for domestic and/or import vehicles (both early and late models a plus.,
• Maintain equipment and tools related to the job function.
• Compile daily record of units built and submit to Manager at the end of each month
• Report all out of stock items to the Shop Manager.

Skills and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of transmission rebuilding experience
• Punctuality & Attendance
• Desire to learn and grow
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to multi-task
• Able to give instructions
• Capable of assuming responsibility
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills

Duties Include:

• Use air compressors, power tools, parts washers, and hand tools to disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble vehicle components

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues or areas of concern, including documentation and photographs of issues

• Follow schematics and technical manuals to complete your job

• Perform other transmission repairs and maintenance as needed

• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used

• Keep work area swept, mopped, and tidy

• Must be able to keep track of parts removed or used

• Must have own basic tools, we provide some shop tools

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
