Automation Engineer (Manufacturing)

Salary: Basic up to $4,800 + Bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 5:30pm
Working Location: Tuas
Company Transport: Pick-up from Woodlands and Lakeside

Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions to improve production efficiency, product quality and machine performance.
• Support automation integration with injection moulding machines, assembly machines, industrial robots, conveyors and vision systems.
• Perform PLC, HMI and robot programming, troubleshooting and system optimisation.
• Troubleshoot automated machinery and provide technical support during production and new product launches.
• Improve machine cycle time, equipment reliability and overall production efficiency.
• Support preventive maintenance, continuous improvement and error-proofing initiatives.
• Work with Engineering, Production, Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and system integrators on machine installation, commissioning and upgrades.
• Maintain technical documentation and provide basic training to technicians and operators.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical knowledge of PLC, HMI and industrial control systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues systematically.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in medical device manufacturing, precision plastic manufacturing or other automated production environments.
• Exposure to injection moulding automation, robotics, assembly automation or machine vision systems.
• Familiarity with motion control systems and automated equipment integration.
• Experience working with equipment vendors or system integrators is an advantage.
