Automation & Service Engineer

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Project Management, this hands-on role will be responsible for the design, programming, testing, commissioning and ongoing support of automated food processing machinery.

Working across the full project lifecycle, your key responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop and modify PLC, HMI, SCADA and motion control systems
• Develop electrical, control and automation solutions for industrial machinery
• Conduct FAT, SAT, I/O testing and system validation
• Install, configure and commission machinery at customer sites
• Troubleshoot electrical, automation and control system faults
• Support equipment upgrades, retrofits and optimisation projects
• Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal project teams
• Ensure solutions meet relevant safety, electrical and machinery standards

Your Background

You are a practical Automation or Controls Engineer who enjoys being involved from design through to commissioning. You will also have:

• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or similar
• Experience designing, programming and commissioning industrial automation systems
• Strong PLC, HMI and SCADA experience
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
• Experience with FAT, SAT and commissioning
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to undertake domestic and periodic international travel
