Automation Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a major Fertilizer/Petrochemical operation in Qatar.

This is a maintenance-focused automation role supporting plant automation systems, troubleshooting, reliability, engineering activities, and continuous plant operations.

Key Requirements

✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering

✅ Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in Industrial Control Systems

✅ Experience specifically within Petrochemical or Fertilizer industries is mandatory

✅ Strong hands-on experience in Automation System maintenance, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

Industrial automation networking and Cybersecurity

Computer hardware/software maintenance related to automation systems

Key Responsibilities

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for:

• Maintaining automation systems to ensure high availability, reliability and uptime.
• Planning and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshooting automation system failures and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Supporting automation projects, installation and commissioning activities.
• Supervising automation maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.
• Supporting functional safety and cybersecurity compliance.
• Planning and monitoring automation spare parts and safety stock.
• Maintaining accurate technical documentation and automation system records.
• Supporting plant operations and providing technical assistance during breakdowns and shutdowns.
• Participating in call-duty/after-hours maintenance support when required.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
