About the role

MYSES SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Melaka on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position that will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and solutions that enhance operational efficiency across our organisation. As an Automation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technological innovation, working to streamline processes, reduce manual intervention, and improve overall system performance. Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automation systems and control solutions utilising industry-standard programming languages and platforms
• Conduct feasibility studies and create detailed technical specifications for automation projects
• Implement, test, and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Integrate hardware and software components to create seamless automation solutions
• Perform system commissioning and validation to meet project requirements and industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and translate them into automation solutions
• Document all technical designs, configurations, and procedures for future reference and maintenance
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades to existing automation systems
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff on automated systems
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in automation engineering or a similar role within the electrical/electronic engineering sector
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java
• Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
• Experience with industrial control systems and automation frameworks
• Competency in electrical schematic design and circuit analysis
• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) tools and software simulation environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with capacity to work effectively within a team
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or equivalent qualifications are advantageous
• Experience with industrial IoT (Internet of Things) applications is desirable
