Responsibilities of Automation Engineers

• Supporting production equipment during all shifts to ensure uninterrupted operations.

• ​Troubleshooting and resolving machine breakdowns in a timely manner.

• ​Performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.Supporting robot systems, vision systems, PLCs, sensors, and automation controls.Managing machine parameter setup, backup, and restoration.

• ​Supporting new product introduction (NPI), process optimization, and continuous improvement activities.Coordinating with Production, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers for issue resolution.

• ​Monitoring equipment performance and driving OEE improvements.Supporting spare parts management and automation system reliability initiatives.

• Ensuring production equipment complies with safety and operational requirements

• Coordinate new equipment installation, equipment modification and qualification.

• Support equipment /process qualification including protocol development and execution.

• Consult with vendors to produce equipment, materials and/or parts that meet determined product specification.

• Develop and implement SOPs to ensure that all engineering activities are performed safely and effectively.

• Coordinate & management work including good project management, budgeting, resource allocation, accurate project scope definition and project scheduling to meet time & client requirement.

• Establish, manage and schedule preventive maintenance activities to enable smooth production operation.

• To establish or review safety work procedures in order to ensure all works performed are compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guideline.

• Provide technical leadership and actively collaborate across different teams and department for solving complex issue, driving improvement, etc.

• Implement, manage and accountable for compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements and other business system (i.e., Health, Safety, Environment and Quality)

• Preparing and managing budget and financial records.

• Plan, organize and control inventory management tools, spare parts and consumable goods.

• Lead Kaizen activities in the manufacturing.

• Serve as a technical resource for the plant locations and other departments. Assist facilities with troubleshooting particular problems in the manufacturing environments.

• Ensure that all personnel performing production and inspection in the production are properly trained, have the relevant skill and experience, and aware of EHS hazards and addressing actions.

• To assist in development of safety and health rules and safe systems of work;

• To review the effectiveness of safety and health programmes;

• To promote and develop a high level of Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness and commitment to all personnel.

• To provide technical / advisory support for Health, Safety, and Environmental program.

• To participate in reviews and audits and report findings

• To analyze accident trends, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease at the work place.

• To report to the employer of any unsafe or unhealthy condition or practices at the place of work together with recommendations for corrective actions;

• To review the Health, Safety, and Environmental policies at the place of work and make recommendations to the employer for any revision of such policies

• To review with Management Representative in conducting any competition, talks and activities to promote a safe conduct of work.

• To inspect the place of work at least once (1) in 3 months

• To assists all the Management Representative in inspecting the workplace as soon as it is safe to do so, after any accident, near miss occurrence, dangerous occurrences, which has occurred.

• Ensure that the implementation of the ISO 13485 requirements are effectively carried out.

• To promote and develop a high level of Health, Safety & Environmental awareness and commitment.

• Adhere to safety and health rules and safe systems of work

Job Requirements & Qualification

• Minimum Degree holder in Electrical/ Mechanical / Material / Industrial or related degree.
• Minimum 3 years working experience as an Equipment/Maintenance/Manufacturing/Process Engineer.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Relevant experience in medical industry
• Knowledge in ISO 13485 standard.
• Exposure to working in a highly regulated medical environment.
• Multi-tasking for both equipment and process engineering activity.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good team player and able to work independently.
