Automation Engineer

Duties

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems using ladder logic (LD) and other engineering programming languages to automate manufacturing processes.
• Install, configure, and maintain industrial robotic systems, including Fanuc robots and other industrial controls, ensuring seamless operation within production lines.
• Develop and modify Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for operator control panels to improve usability and process visibility.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to support system installation and repairs.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures, perform troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles, optimize tooling, machining processes, and vision inspection systems for quality assurance.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, schematics, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance logs in compliance with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
• Support industrial network integration including distributed control systems (DCS) and industrial Ethernet networks for reliable data communication across machinery.

Experience

• Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on automation or robotics engineering.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of Fanuc robotic systems, PLC programming (including ladder logic), PLC troubleshooting, and industrial controls.
• Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks for system design or modifications; experience with vision inspection systems is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on complex equipment issues within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Experience working within lean manufacturing environments adhering to CGMP standards is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, industrial networks, distributed control systems (DCS), and HMI configuration is essential for success in this role.

Pay: $105,435.74 - $110,955.07 per year
