Automation Engineer

About the role

Design, commissioning and install automation machines and systems to meet project and production schedules. Review and upgrade existing automated production lines via root cause analysis for continuous improvement to meet production requirements. Lead project coordination and execution with attention to detail, providing cost-effective technical solutions in line with customer and company needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, commissioning and install automation machines and systems to meet project and production schedule
• Review and upgrade existing automated production lines via root cause analysis for continuous improvement
• Create, prepare and update automation project documentation, procedures and drawings including Gantt charts, weekly progress reports, process/equipment flow charts, validation lists, FAT/SAT procedures, mechanical assembly and layout drawings, electrical diagrams and wiring, I/O lists, co-robot and PLC programs, SOPs, work instructions and preventive maintenance checklists
• Lead project coordination and execution
• Provide cost-effective technical solutions in line with customer and company needs
• Update and back up automation system documentation, procedures, drawings, software, co-robot and PLC programming timely
• Coordinate with internal teams (BD, QC, production, maintenance) and external suppliers to make projects successful

Requirement

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in project management
• Experience in automation engineering system design concept and development
• Experience in mechanical and pneumatic systems, EOAT (End Of Arm Tooling), fixture and jig design
• Experience in electrical and PLC, co-robot and vision control system design and programming
• Well-versed in IT skills (MS Office), PLC/CAD, statistical software analysis (e.g., MINITAB, MATLAB)
