Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems to improve manufacturing productivity, quality, safety, and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, install, and commission automation systems, machines, and production equipment.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC, HMI, servo, vision, robotic, and other control systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Work with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and vendors to define automation requirements and deliver projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prepare technical specifications, and support equipment selection and procurement.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve automation, control, and equipment issues.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, programs, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Ensure automation equipment complies with company standards, safety requirements, and relevant regulations.
• Train operators and maintenance personnel on the safe operation and basic troubleshooting of automated equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime, cycle time, and operating costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in automation or manufacturing engineering; candidates with less experience may be considered for junior-level roles.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming, preferably Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Allen-Bradley.
• Familiarity with HMI, servo drives, sensors, industrial robots, machine vision, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical and control systems.
• Experience with machine installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of machine safety standards and risk assessment is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and support production requirements when needed.
