Automation Engineer

About the role

To be responsible, manage, plan and coordinate automation machine mechanical activities. Test and verify automation machines mechanical and functional performance. Verify automation machines CAD drawings (SolidWorks, and AutoCAD). Coordinate with electrical and software engineers to ensure mechanical parts function in sync with control systems (PLCs, HMIs).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement design changes to improve system reliability and performance
• Manage timelines, budgets and collaboration between multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise and support on-site installation
• Perform system commissioning which includes calibration, safety checks, and functional validation
• Establish Preventive Maintenance procedures
• Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals and standard operating procedures
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies
• Suggest mechanical or process changes to optimize automation systems
• Coordinate with external suppliers to evaluate, set up new automation systems, overseeing the mechanical design and ensuring all requirements were met for smooth integration as well as optimal functionality
• Lead and provide guideline to the automation engineer and team to align their efforts with the company's objectives, fostering innovation, efficiency as well as collaboration

• Build effective communication in daily operation within operational engineering/engineering design/project, inter-department personnel and management
• Continue study and improve efficiency and effective automation process
