Automation Engineer - Guyana

Location: East Bank Demerara, Guyana

Monthly Salary: GYD 1,000,000–1,200,000, negotiable

HR Guyana is recruiting an experienced Automation Engineer on behalf of a client in the industrial manufacturing sector.

This opportunity is open to qualified candidates in Guyana and Caribbean nationals willing to relocate to Guyana.

The successful candidate will install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation and automation systems, ensuring reliable operation and responding promptly to faults to minimise production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair control instruments, including control valves, positioners, sensors, transmitters, gauges and meters.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, including hardware and software components.
• Diagnose and resolve communication faults between field instruments, controllers and PLC/SCADA systems.
• Carry out minor control panel modifications, including wiring and component replacement.
• Configure, troubleshoot and make minor changes to PLC programs to resolve operational faults.
• Work with production and maintenance teams to restore equipment functionality and support reliable plant operations.
• Lead and support technical teams in resolving automation and control system issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• A completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related engineering field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley control systems is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, PLC/SCADA hardware and software, programming and industrial network communication.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation and automation systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a negotiable monthly salary of GYD 1,000,000–1,200,000 , together with:
