Automation/ Instrument Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to plan & establish predictive and preventive maintenance program for all power plant related to DCS system, PLC system, instruments guided by manufacturer recommendations, and good industrial practices.
• Responsible to implement predictive and preventive maintenance program related to control and instrumentation in order to maintain power plant equipment and facilities at optimum operation condition.
• Responsible to plan and implement control and instrumentation calibration works.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and executing corrective actions to minimize thermal power plant equipment downtime especially on automation systems.
• Responsible to plan, monitor, record and update works related to control and instrumentation into maintenance monitoring software.
• Responsible to supervise any new installation and/or maintenance works related to control and instrumentation are carried out correctly. Also, responsible to jointly commission once all works completed. (Including works carried out by inhouse team and external contractors.)
• Responsible to assist to develop accident preventive measure plan for boilers, turbines and other ancillary equipment related control and instrumentation.
• Responsible to assist the Plant Manager to plan and execute emergency response drills for power plant related to controls and instrumentation.
• Responsible to assist spare part management system related to instrumentation and control spares. (by maintain minimum stock level control, consumption record, timely delivery and selection correct spare parts)
• Responsible to discuss with respective section heads and assist prepare tender document for contractors works related to control and instrumentation works. Coordinate and supervise all contractors works related to control and instrumentation works.
• Responsible to ensure any new installation and/or maintenance works are safe, correct in accordance to all local authorities and responsible for commission works once works completed. (Including works carried out by inhouse team and external contractors)
• Assist in manpower development / human capital development planning for control & instrument team. Identify training and development needs of the team and work with Human Resource Department on development of the team.
• Responsible for full compliance to all safety procedures, general safety & health procedure, environmental procedures, hygiene procedures and 5S execution. Good housekeeping at workshop area and at all related work area.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least Degree in Electrical, Electronic and Instrument Engineering or a related field.
• Experience/knowledge in electrical systems and power generation systems.
• Familiarity with Instrumentation & Control Systems.
• Knowledge of DCS and PLC systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
