Automation Technician

We are seeking an experienced 1st Shift Automation & Controls Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing and facility systems in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong PLC, SCADA, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance experience, along with a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and SCADA systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, automation, and industrial equipment issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Perform preventive maintennce, inspections, and equipment testing.
• Support control system design, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and arc flash procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to maximize equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with industrial automation, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
• Available for paid overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Engineering, or related
• Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
• Electrical maintenance certifications.
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or welding systems.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
